Carne Guisada (Pork Stew)

The Enchilada Queen's recipe for Carne Guisada

Slow-simmered pork or beef cooked with Sylvia’s Chili Gravy and cumin. A classic Tex-Mex dish that’s flavorful, comforting, and easy to make at home.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs. diced pork (beef stew meat can also be used)
  • 1 16 oz jar of Enchilada Queen Chili Gravy
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups water split
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin (Optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine diced pork or beef and 1 ¾ cups of water in amedium pot, cover and simmer. Cook over low heat until fork tender. (About 1 hour)
  2. Add 1- 16 oz jar of Enchilada Queen Chili Gravy and 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder.
  3. Add ½ cup water until desired moistness. Simmer for about 10 min
